Book Week!

As national book week draws to a close I thought I would share my costume with you.
I came as Hermione from Harry Potter (of course). With thanks to my mum, who is an avid HP memorabilia collector!
My placement school got seriously involved with book week (August 20th-26th). We even got our own book store set up in one of the spare classrooms!
The students were really excited about visiting the book store and many brought in their newly acquired books for show and tell and spent lunch times in a quiet corner of the playground perusing over their books!
The school held a dress-up day and parade where all students and staff got to dress up as their favourite book character.
The week was a huge success and I am so happy that this allows students to become more engaged and excited about literacy and reading.
